It’s the basis for the idyllic, small-town Main Street of years gone by – the family-owned business, handed down from generation to generation, the stuff of Saturday Evening Post covers by Norman Rockwell.
While in many places that vision has faded, there is a signature business on Main Street in Vicnennes which is melding the Rockwellian notion of the family-owned business with the 21st-Century concept of corporate efficiency.
Starting with Dr. Elie B. Hendrix Jr. in 1945 and continuing to the second and third generations, the Hendrix family of optometrists has provided quality eye care to Vincennes.
