A short drive to a rural area where a building on a hill with a covered porch that is home for recliners and chairs for an afternoon and evening where cool breezes gently ruffle through the limbs of nearby trees.
That was the portrait framed in the mind of CEO and Manager Brett Melton when the new clubhouse for the Country Club of Old Vincennes entered its creative stage.
Melton was looking for a building that reminded him of Midwestern clubhouses built in the early 1900’s.
The brush has now been applied to the canvas of architecture and construction. Within the masterpiece is Slicers, an ever-growing location for families, or golfers, looking to relax in a friendly atmosphere.
Raglesville Lake Inc. purchased the Vincennes Golf Club property in 2010, and plans were soon in the works for a new clubhouse that would serve the needs of three former structures.
