DeEtta Welte was in the midst of a busy week just before Christmas. Student recitals had just been completed, equipment for John Tesh’s show was being set up, and the Steinway Tesh would play that Friday was being tuned.
Welte is manager of the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at Vincennes University which features an 850-seat theater, classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and dressing rooms, within a block of the famed comedian’s birthplace on Lyndale Avenue.
